This Leonetto Cappiello vintage 1998 offset lithograph print iconic French poster " Parapluie-Revel " 1922, is a very special and unique piece to add to your collection. It features an iconic French poster artwork image originally created by Cappiello in 1922 titled " Parapluie-Revel ". Leonetto Cappiello ( 1875 - 1942 ) was an Italian and French poster art designer and painter, who mainly lived and worked in Paris. He is now often called " The Father of Modern Advertising " because of his innovation in poster design. Cappiello worked in a way that was almost the opposite of his predecessors. He was the first poster artist to use bold figures popping out of backgrounds, a startling contrast to the posters early norm. Over teh course of his career he produced more than 500 advertising posters. This iconic Parisian image was created for the umbrella manufacturer Revel, Paris. The offset lithograph print poster measures 21 1/2" W X 36" H. It is printed on high quality premium paper stock with vibrant ink colors in a satin finish. It is in excellent " like new " vintage condition consistent with age, light signs of handling, and very light minor wear. It has never been framed. Please see photos for condition reference.
