Rays from the setting sun light up the sky and shine a spotlight through the famed "Keyhole" rock formation on Pfeiffer Beach in Big Sur. Some of the sand on this beach is purple in color, caused by the erosion of manganese garnet rocks in the cliffs above the beach.
