This piece was inspired by a trip to a small town outside of Madrid called Cuenca where many well-known artists lived in the 1950s-70s. It has a 2 inch cradled side that is painted black. I can't explain the 'why' of this abstract image and its relationship to Spain. But Cuenca sits high on some cliffs and it was a town where artists escaped under Franco to continue painting.
