Colored etching on paper by Louis Icart (French, 1888–1950), titled “In Thought.” The composition depicts a young woman seated on a dining table, seen through a window or screen, rendered in Icart’s elegant, atmospheric line with subtle hand-colored accents. Signed in pencil at lower right in the plate. Presented in a white mat with a gilt frame. Comparable auction records identify similarly titled Icart etchings from 1938 and describe them as hand-colored etchings with the same subject. FRAME 17 X 14 IN. PLATE 10 X 7 IN.
