About the artist: Lucien Delarue was born in 1925 in Paris and passed away September 6, 2011. A pupil of Yves Brayer in the studios of Grande Chaumiere in Paris, he was awarded a gold medal at the Salon of Vincennes and a bronze medal of the most important exhibitions of Paris, the “Arts-Sciences-Lettres.” For his watercolors, he won first prize at the Salon of Deauville. In 1970, his works were shown at the Museum of Ile de France in the chateau of Sceaux. Further exhibitions were held in New York and San Francisco. He won the gold medal of the Salon of Clichy in 1973, a first prize and the Vermeil-Medaille at the Salon Violet, and in 1974 the silver medal of the Salon des Artistes Francais, of which he is a member.
