Keeler's father was co-founder of Sears Roebucks Company Store and her mother was a slide painter. She began attending Northwestern University in 1921, and upon graduation in 1923, she married Raymond H. Keeler. She studied at the Art Institute of Chicago in the 1930's under landscape and portrait artist Francis Chapin. Throughout her life she displayed her pieces at galleries and shows in the Chicago-area, especially the Art Institute's Sales and Rental. She moved to Phoenix after 1990, where she died in 1996.
