Portraits and genre subjects in oils and miniatures; born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Oct. 21st, 1855; son of Hermann and Emma (Uber) F. Studied at the Penna Academy of Fine Arts (Philadelphia), and in Paris under Benjamin Constant, Jules Lefebvre and T. Robert Fleury; studied engraving in Stuttgart (Germany) and in Munich; married to Agnes Marie Mulholland (1901). Has exhibited in Paris, Philadelphia, Chicago,and in nearly all current exhibitions in the U.S. Is instructor of drawing and artistic Anatomy in Pennsylvania Museum and School of Industrial Art. Ex President of Philadelphia Sketch Club; President of Philadelphia Society of Miniature Painters; member of the American Art Asssociaiton (Paris); Philadelphia. Society of Etchers. Studio, 320 So.
