Lyretail anthias (Pseudanthias squamipinnis) and a crinoid or featherstar (bottom) on a coral reef. The lyretail anthias is also known as the sea goldie. It can reach up to 15 centimetres in length and is found throughout the Indo-West Pacific region. Crinoids feed by filtering food particles from the water using their feathery arms, the hairs of which pass food to a central mouth. They inhabit shallow and deep waters across the world's oceans.
