Madonna and Child with the Infant Saint John the Baptist, 1600, with a well-balanced and harmonious composition. At the center is the Child, wrapped in white drapery and painted with adult facial features and an adult gaze, looking up at Saint John the Baptist, who embraces him adoringly. The Virgin, with her hair gathered, wears a softly draped purple and ultramarine dress with a daring neckline. She holds the Child on her lap in an unspecified setting with an open window overlooking a hilly landscape with architecture in the background. This 17th-century religious painting has been cleaned and is in good condition, with previous restorations. It is of the Lombard school and comes from a private collection. It features a beautiful 19th-century fine gold frame.
