Constance Wain Schwartz was a New York–based fine artist trained at Pratt Institute, the Art Students League, Hunter College, and Queens College, where she earned a B.A. in Fine Arts, as well as an M.F.A. in Printmaking from C.W. Post College. Working across watercolor, printmaking, mixed media, and collage, her work was widely exhibited and collected privately. Her art received critical acclaim from The New York Times and Newsday, which praised her work as “mythic,” “eloquent,” and “bold and free-wheeling.” Connie also served for many years on the board of BJ Spoke Gallery, contributing actively to the arts community. The artist passed away in 2022.
