Marco Calderini, Garden, Lithograph, 1880s

Chairish

$306

Garden is a beautiful black and white lithograph on paper, realized by Marco Calderini (Tourin 1850-1948) around 1880. Representing a luxurious and decadent garden with a central fountain with a statue, this modern artwork is in good condition, except for some sporadic stains on the higher-margin and a usual and light yellowing of the paper on the edge, with some decoloration of ink. Including a cream-colored cardboard passepartout, cm 35 x 49.8. Marco Calderini (Turin, 1850 - 1941) The Italian painter, lithographer and writer Marco Calderini was student at the Albertina Academy of Enrico Gamba, del Gastaldi and Antonio Fontanesi, whose style was inspired in the first works, moving away later towards a much more accentuated realistic research. He began his career in 1870 with "The banks of the Po in Turin", which is one of the most remarkable works placed in the Turin Civic Museum. In the same year he created the painting The Solitary Statues, in the Gallery of Modern Art in Rome, which was followed by many other paintings of dazzling views of Piedmont. In 1899 he participated in the III International Art Exhibition in Venice. Among his writings: The posthumous memories of Francesco Mosso (1885) and Antonio Fontanesi: landscape painter (1901). This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
