This is a matted French Art Deco fashion pochoir that came from a catalog sent to private clients showcasing the winter collection of 1928-1929. This is an extremely RARE pochoir. This is "Planche V of 8 original designs featured in the Cain & Rheims catalog of tailored sportswear. It shows silk coats and suits created in atelliers for a private clientele. The catalog was sent to the private clients and thus had very limited circulation. Note the detailing in the designs and the background details as well. This pochoir is done on gilded paper!!!! The fine paper is in excellent condition for its age and history. It has NOT been modified in any way. It has a wonderful overall sheen and takes on an illuminated shimmer. It is affixed to the black rich stock of the original catolog which notes the featured names of the designs. In addition, there is documentated detail describing each dress specifically. The purchase includes documentation of both the catalog details and the dress descriptions. 9.5 x 11.25 in size (black paper measures 11 x 12.75 inches.)
