Maurice Grothausen, Abstract Architectural Work In White And Blue Tones, 1960s-1970s, Mixed Media

Chairish

$2,103

A rare and powerful wall-mounted relief from the 1972–1976 series by dutch architect and artist maurice m. Grothausen (bna–bni). Crafted in hand-sprayed mdf in a distinctive khaki green, these sculptural panels exemplify a minimalist yet expressive language rooted in architectural clarity. this series—limited to just 9 unique works—was developed alongside grothausen’s architectural practice and reflects his strong affinity with the geometric abstraction of pre-war pioneers such as andré volten and wim crouwel. Starting each work from a pure shape—circle, square, or triangle—grothausen explored balance, repetition, and visual rhythm through a clean, three-dimensional surface language. each piece is wall-mounted via a french cleat system due to its substantial weight (approx. 15 kg). Unsigned but fully authenticated and guaranteed, this panel is a collector’s piece of high modernist craftsmanship—timeless, serene, and made with an eye for proportion and tactile presence. condition: excellent vintage condition, with only minor surface marks consistent with age. material: sprayed mdf i have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs, designer records, or other literature sources and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
