The lithograph print poster features an original painting created by Beckmann in 1923 titled " Dance in Baden - Baden ". Max Beckmann ( 1884 - 1950 ) German born painter, printmaker, sculptor, and writer is commonly defined as an Expressionist, although he rejected both the term and the movement. In the 1920's he was associated with the New Objectivity " an outgrowth of Expressionism that opposed its introverted emotions.
