Robertson, then architecture dean at the University of Virgina, brought together two dozen architects to a private 2-day only confab. Several of the participants were Philip Johnson, Paul Rudolph, Charles Gwathmey, Toyo Ito, Tadao Ando to name a few and postmodernism was in full bloom with Michael Graves the man of the hour.
