A pair of hand colored engravings, nicely matted with filage and green marbleized filets in fine burl wood frames. These original engravings date to the mid 18th century, and were published in A Natural History of Uncommon Birds (1743-1751). The copperplate engraved plates are from the German translation edition printed in Nuremberg. The images include the Asian “Green Flycatcher” and the “Fork Tailed Blackbird” of South East Asia.
