Mid 20th Century Jerry Difalco (Pa 1952-2021) Original Abstract Painting On Canvas, Style Of Mark Rothko

Chairish

$900

This mid-century abstract painting is the work of renowned Philadelphia artist and printmaker Jerry (Gerald) DiFalco, from his recent estate. He was a prolific Philadelphia based visual artist, printmaker, and poet who referred to his unique style as "visual poetry". This layered composition uses deep blacks and a central, interestingly textured vibrant orange field bisected by a thin yellow line. This is a prime example of DiFalco's use of multi-layered, atmospheric color, reminiscent of Mark Rothko. The painting is in very good-excellent condition. No damage or repairs. The frame measures 22 1/4" wide, 28 1/4" tall. The painting alone is 18" x 24". Labeled "DiFalco #9" on the stretcher. About the Artist Over his career, Jerry DiFalco (Camden, NJ 1952-2021) exhibited his work in over 400 solo and group exhibitions worldwide. He was deeply rooted in the Philadelphia arts community, working at and mentoring students at the Fleisher Art Memorial. DiFalco was an active member of Philadelphia's DaVinci Art Alliance and the International Print Center of New York & the Arts Alliance of New York among many others.
