Alexander Gore (1958) is an artist who was ahead of his time. He was born and raised in St. Petersburg, Russia, where his art consumed his imagination and life, and he followed his very Modernist style. The authorities and the "establishment" there decreed he had three choices: he could change to a more traditional style of art; he could leave the country; or he was to be inducted into the Russian army. Russia's loss was our gain. He made the long and perilous journey to the United States where he has lived his life creating an ever changing Modernist style that is finally receiving the acclaim I have felt for a long time that his work deserves. We see the prices on his work climbing.
