Catherine Parker Melton, a 20th-century contemporary Tennessee painter and sculptor studied at Peabody College and Corcoran School of Art. Her exhibitions include the Maryland Institute in 1930, the League of American Pen Women 1940-1941, 1943-1944 (prizes). Melton was a member of the Washington Art Club and the Society of Washington Artists Nashville, and the Sarasota Art Association.
