Measures roughly 27.5" long x 22.25" wide (your print may have slightly different dimensions, but it shouldn't differ by more than. 5") About the Artist: Marian Ford was a native of Chicago and a graduate of the University of Illinois, with additional study at the Art Institute of Chicago, the American Academy of Art in Chicago, Glassell School of Art in Houston, and the University of Tulsa. Her professional art career began in 1969 when she moved to Midland, Texas and was inspired by the simplicity of the wide open spaces. In addition to being a former President of the Midland Arts Association, Marian was a printmaking instructor at Midland College in Midland, Texas from 1972-1979. Marian moved to Lake Conroe, Texas in 1980 and continued with serigraphy, concentrating on city skylines and oil field subjects. When the Texas market collapsed in 1984, she sought new directions and began making 3-dimensional works using diverse materials such as handmade paper, silk, beads, wood, and yarn. The results were multifaceted, stylistic, non-objective compositions. Marian thought of her work as "spontaneous constructions" and would often apply thick accents of paint, transparent washes, or spontaneous scribbles of the brush to further express her language of art. Marian's art won her numerous awards, was sold nationally, and has been included in both private and corporate collections such as Xerox. Marian had numerous solo shows throughout her career and her work was shown in galleries and fine art shows throughout Texas, including in Houston, Austin, Dallas, and Midland.
