Rene Audebes – (b.1921-1993). René Audebes was primarily inspired by the art of the 1950s in his earl years. As a painter and cartoonist, he participated in group exhibitions in France and abroad, but it is Paris where he sets up his solo exhibitions, notably in 1980 at The Jean - Pierre Lavignes Gallery and in 1990 and 1992 at The Lavignes Bastille Gallery. In early years, he worked in the studied at The Metzinger Academy where he also worked as an assistant. In 1953 he became a professor at The Frochot Academy.
