David Lan-bar (b.1912) is a Russian born Polish artist currently listed, exhibited and collected internationally. Lan-Bar's work is frequently realized in auctions globally. and known for his Abstract Expressionistism works in form and color. The Abstract Expressionist movement was initially based in New York City and were often referred to as The New York School. They were influenced by the ideas of Surrealism and aimed to make abstracted art that also possessed expressive and emotional qualities. Lan-Bar was affiliated with the Artists Association of Jewish, Eastern European Emigres, known as the Second Ecole de Paris. His work is currently in collections of The Smithsonian American Institute of Art, MOMA in New York and The Art Institute of Chicago.
