Moon Flower One

This painting was created by rendering a blue watery background in acrylic and allowing it to dry without any brushstrokes. Once it was dry I painted the white background which is actually the foreground and was painted last. The negative space by painting the white created the floral shapes. I finished it by using a gel medium which not only protects the surface it brings out the color adding dimension and texture.
