An original watercolor painting on paper by Herbert Parsons Weaver, British artist 1872-1945, "Morlaix (Finistere, Brittany, France), August 1932", scene of the old town with buildings and a cathedral spire with people shopping at a street market, 12 1/2" x 6 3/4", signed H.P. Weaver in the lower right corner front, inscribed on reverse Morlaix, Aug. 1932, CA number 3914, CA purchased from a British auction house spring 2023. The painting has been cleaned, rematted in White Museum matboard, lined, Conservation Clear Glass, museum backing, framed with 1/2" Roma antiqued gold moulding. The artist was head master of the Shrewsbury School of Art and a member of The Royal Society of British Artists. He exhibited works at the Walker Art Gallery, the Manchester City Art Gallery, the Royal Academy, the Royal Society of British Artists, the Royal Cambrian Academy and the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours.
