Signed lower left, 'Denis Paul Noyer' (French, b. 1940), titled, 'Mougins' and dated 1968. A mid-century, stylized painting of the Place du Commandant Lamy in Mougins leading to a view of the French Alps in the distance. Born in Paris in 1940, Denis Paul Noyer first studied with his father, the artist Philippe Noyer, and, subsequently, at the Lycée Janson de Sailly and the Academie des Beaux Arts de Troyes. He later studied at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Lyon. Since his first American show in Beverly Hills in 1964, Noyer’s work has been exhibited world-wide including in Paris, Florence, Rome, Stockholm, New York, and Chicago. The artist and his wife, Rafaela, live in Paris, where Noyer continues to work in his rooftop atelier overlooking the city.
