Peter Keil is a German artist who focuses primarily on abstract expressionism. Keil painted with some of the greats, including Joan Miró, Pablo Picasso, and Andy Warhol, to name a few. This is an incredible abstract portrait of Peter's dear friend and mentor, Pablo Picasso, that is actually painted in a very Picasso-style manner. It is signed “P. Keil” in the lower left corner and executed with acrylic on canvas and framed. It is titled and signed "My Friend Pablo Picasso in Palma de Mallorca, P. Keil" on the verso. This piece was purchased by the Bowen family as a routine purchase directly from the Keil family, acting on behalf of Peter. The art is in good condition with minor wear consistent with age.
