Signed lower right, "Edinah L. Jewett" (American, 20th century), inscribed lower left, "1/2" and titled "Ballerina and Friend". Substantial sugar-lift aquatint and etching showing a young woman in coral seated beside a young man, both shown in profile, gazing to the viewers left and contrasted against a background of vivid magenta. Edinah Jewett received her B.A. Degree in Art from Northridge University and her B.S. from San Jose University at California. Her solar plate etchings appear in Dan Weldon's book, "Printmaking In The Sun". Jewett has participated in Art Train, California, and From Pacific to Potomic, a touring group show, sponsored by the House of Representative's & Capitol Arts Program, and numerous other community Art in Action shows and demonstrations. She has served on the Board of Directors at Gallery House, Palo Alto, California and her work has been exhibited at numerous one and two-person gallery shows at the San Mateo Coastal Art League, California, as well as gallery shows nationwide.
