Born in Croatia in 1945, Marko Spalatin immigrated to the United States in 1963 and enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1968. His work explores geometric abstract forms and plays with the manipulation of color and light. He shared that he finds inspiration for his work during scuba diving excursions in the Caribbean and the Adriatic Sea. His work has been been shown in collections and exhibitions all over the world, from the Tate in London to the Metropolitan Museum in Manila to Zagbreb, Croatia.
