$7,500

A stunningly original mixed-media collage showing an Ark containing various life-forms and a dove resting in the waves. Fridman has used oil paint, papyrus and pre-columbian textiles to fashion a powerful interpretation of this fundamental symbol of Christian iconography. Signed lower left, 'Liber Fridman' (Argentinian, 1910-2003) and created circa 1940. This listed Argentine artist explored the juxtaposition of pre-Columbian and post-contact modes of expression with his multimedia approach in art. Fridman's work exalts pre-Columbian textile as art.
