I've painted several versions of this scene. The actress, Nancy Travis, was kind enough to let me use her photo that I found so captivating. The expanse of the sky, the richness of the fields and the figures just barely lit by the sun are what intrigued me. Her stature in the saddle said strong and confident. Using the palette knife technique for this painting created so much texture and abstract marks. Great for the inner cowgirl art lover!
