Drawing inspiration from Surrealism, Abstract Expressionism, and pop culture, his work explores themes of scale, speed, memory, and everyday life. After working as a bespoke furniture designer, Bronkhorst returned to art in 2022 following the birth of his daughter, which reignited his creative drive. Using leftover building materials, he developed a method of layering paint to create sculptural, three-dimensional surfaces that serve as stage-like settings for his tiny painted figures.
