This well-executed original oil painting on linen captures the feel and energy of turbulent ocean waves pounding on a rocky shoreline. It is rendered in shades of blue with undertones of green and brown with white waves. The sweeping brushstrokes and lightly textured dimension of the painted surface draw the viewer into the realism of the scene. This 1960s vintage oil painting is framed in a driftwood-toned painted frame with a linen-covered gilt-edged mat. The outside dimensions are 21-7/8” by 13”. The painting dimensions are 17-1/2” by 8-5/8”. The artist’s signature, M. Erickson, is in the lower right corner. Marilyn Erickson was an artist who was based in Sedona, Arizona, in the later years of her life. The painting is in very good condition with no paint loss.
