A gorgeous piece of Mid 20th Century original oil on canvas painting with a collection of a most delightfully comforting set of colors. It's titled "taking off for space" on the back, and which fits its earthy atmospheric tones; and reminds us of Frank Herbert's 1965 Dune. It is illegibly signed on the bottom right corner and does have a little rip in the same area, seen in photo. As to style we would categorize it as geometric abstract leaning heavily on synthetic cubism, with its fragmented forms. We estimate it to be from the 60s or 70s. A simple slate wooden frame works just fine with it—with its age we believe the artist added it to the canvas when it was completed. Lastly, the frame is stamped with New York City, and so we believe the artist made this there.
