He was nominated “Academician of Italy” in 1978 and awarded a gold medal by the Academy of Italy of Salsomaggiore. This academy also dedicated an entire color page to him in “The Great Dictionary of Italian Artists”. In the same year, his paintings “The Farmer's House’ was sold at an auction in New York for $10,000 and the owner of the painting had a tavern rebuilt in his house exactly as Tammaro had portrayed it in his painting.
