This is just a great original piece. The works of the Kasimir family have gone up and down over the last 25 years and there are times when I have had quite a few and other times when I cannot even touch them. Recently some have come to the market and I have bought up a few that I am offering this week. This is one of 2 I am offering by Tanna Kasimir Hoernes. For those not familiar with the artist, I have included her biography below. This is one of her classic images of Paris. A wonderful etching with aquatint with the image measuring 11 1/2 x13 1/2 inches. Signed in pencil below the image. Outstanding as printed condition. Archival framed to museum standards (see label verso) this beautiful work is ready to hang. Frame measures 20 x 22 1/4 inches. If you collect TK Hoernes or others from the Kasimir family check my store for the others I am selling. For those not familiar with the artist, her biography from a gallery that sells the artist reads: "Painter, etcher, and graphic designer Johanna (Tanna) Hoernes was born in Graz, Austria. She studied at the School for Women and Girls with Ludwig Michalek and at the Vienna Academy of Art with Wilhelm Unger, where she met her future husband, Luigi Kasimir. They were married in 1911 and worked collaboratively to develop the revolutionary technique of color etching. Each produced a substantial body of work, consisting largely of views based on their worlwide travels. Her work is highly prized for its exacting detail and realistic depiction of both the notable architectural subjects and natural landscapes that she and her husband observed in their travels. She died in Vienna"
