Paolo Minoli (Cantù, 1942–2004) is a key figure in Italian abstract art in the second half of the twentieth century. Trained at the Istituto d'Arte di Cantù, where he graduated as a Master of Art in 1961 and taught until 1978, starting in the 1970s he developed a language based on color, rhythm, and geometric construction. His work is part of the currents of geometric abstraction and analytical painting, with a particular focus on modular processes and chromatic sequences. The work consists of two canvases applied to 25 × 25 cm panels, mounted on a single 50 × 80 cm support. Each panel features a regular grid of color modules in shades of red, blue, and purple, organized according to a controlled visual progression. White corners define the edges of the two units, reinforcing their geometric structure and creating a balance between variation and order. The vertical arrangement introduces a formal dialogue between the panels, consistent with Minoli's interest in combinatorial systems and the construction of compositions based on modulated repetition. The work is in excellent condition. The artist's original signature, date, and title are on the back.
