Note: Rue du Faubourg-du-Temple is a street between the 10th and 11th arrondissements in Paris, France. It begins at Place de la République and goes to Boulevard de la Villette. It is a border road between two arrondissements, its even side being on the 11th arrondissement side and its odd side (on the left) on the 10th. Rue du Faubourg-du-Temple owes its name to the fact that it was laid out in the extension of Rue du Temple. It once passed through a hamlet outside the Porte du Temple of the enclosure, which served the order of the Templars. The suburb was originally a "fors le bourg" district (from the Latin "foris" outside) and from the Latin "borc" (bourg). The name changed to "forbours" after 1260.
