Chairish

$496

L'éloquence de la Chair is a satirical illustration, an original hand-colored lithograph on creamy paper realized by the French draftsman Paul Gavarni (alias Guillaume Sulpice Chevalier, 1804-1866), with pouchoir details. Signed on plate on the lower-center. Chez pannier Edit. R. Du Croissant. 16, on the lower left. Numbered, Titled the top center. Good condition with small ripping along the right and lower margins in the frame part which do not affect the image. With the amusing printed capture on the lower margin. The artwork created by harmonious colors with mastery to make the feeling of the scene, the artwork shows one of the most stylish creations by the artist which indicates with its features the whole aesthetical satiric expression of the French draftsman Paul Gavarni (alias Guillaume Sulpice Chevalier, 1804-1866) This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
