Clyfford Still Abstract Expressionist Lithograph Print Poster "PH-401," 1957 Printed recently, this is the official Museum Poster produced in a very limited quantity. Its dimensions are 24"x36". Clyfford Still (American, 1904–1980) was a painter associated with Abstract Expressionism and is best known for his Color Field paintings that resemble jagged, flame-like shapes. Born in Grandin, North Dakota, he studied at Spokane University in Washington, and earned his MFA from Washington State College. His contemporaries included Franz Kline, Willem De Kooning, Robert Motherwell, Jackson Pollock, and Mark Rothko. Described by many as the most anti - traditional of the Abstract Expressionists. The work is credited with laying the groundwork for the movement.
