Oil on panel, within gilt wood frame. Canvas size 69 x 98 cm Canvas size 124.5 x 94.5 cm The still life shown here, executed by Van Boucle in the mid-17th century, combines the Flemish manner, and thus an attention to the real datum and a frontal use of light, with the delicacy of brushstroke and a taste for color plays typical of the French school. There are also great affinities with some of the most important paintings executed by the painter, such as: "The Basket of Fruit," now in The Toledo Museum of Art, and "Still Life of Fruit, Legumes and a Parrot." The painting is in a good state of preservation and is accompanied by a critical card by Prof. Didier Bodart.
