Teemu Järvi's Polar Bear poster features the thick-furred bear that has roamed the Arctic since the Ice Age, hunting its prey from sea ice openings. Unlike many of the Ice Age's large mammals, the polar bear has survived to the present day – but the shrinking sea ice caused by climate change now poses a serious threat to its future. The illustration is part of the Giants of the Ice Age series, originally created by Finnish artist Teemu Järvi for the exhibition of the same name at the Heureka Science Center. Printed in Finland using offset technique on environmentally friendly matte paper, the poster pairs beautifully with wooden poster hangers – the 40 cm size fits this design best.
