Joseph Holland Tringham (London, 1861 London – Douglas, isle of man, 1908) The prolific English artist is well known as an illustrator, with his work appearing in several periodicals such as the London Illustrated News. He received royal patronage, exhibited at the Royal Academy. His early life was spent in the Royal Navy, where he would enjoy himself sketching caricatures of his colleagues.He was also commissioned to paint the portraits of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra. In 1905—1906 he accompanied the Prince and Princess of Wales on their tour of India. This artwork is shipped from Italy.
