Inglis Carré was born on January 16th, 1952 and is known for her abstract works in oil and acrylic. Inglis Carré has a B.A. degree from U.C.S.C. and a Masters of Fine arts from San Jose State. Artists Statement: "Most of my work would fall into the category of organic or biomorphic abstraction. I am inspired by the transformative processes of nature, which I often express through plant-like forms and shapes that remind me of microscopic organisms...forms that hold a mysterious attraction for me because, at a deep level, the workings of nature are unknowable, no matter how much we think we know about them. My process is a purely abstract one. I apply paint to the canvas and allow the painting to emerge. This is difficult to put into words."
