Outsider artist Purvis Young (American 1943-2010) used school paper to draw warriors standing with watercolor & ink. Signed in the upper right “Young”. Handsomely framed in a new ebony wood frame under glass. This drawing was acquired directly from the artist at his studio in Wynwood/Overtown, Miami, Florida in 1990. Young known for painting on found materials. In this case he used watercolor paint and ink on paper which was rather rare as he primarily used house paint. Young’s artwork is highly collected, and besides many exhibitions. His work currently hangs in 22 museums and many important collections. This piece of artwork would be a great addition to any collector of Young’s work or any art lover. 23” high X 20” wide X 2.5” deep, weighs 8 lbs.
