Vertigo, Oil painting circa 1903. This is pure Parisian style from the Belle Époque (1900-1910). A man kisses his beloved in a Parisian salon adjoining a ballroom, which can be glimpsed in the upper right of the painting. Imagine the story this very Marcel Proust-esque work tells. This scene is so well-known that it was published as a popular postcard. Signed lower right. 46 x 38 cm (59 x 51 cm framed). Very good condition.
