Going through the impeccable furniture sketches of mid century architect Ralph Rapson could possibly be one of the best ways to spend a cold winter afternoon in Minnesota. We found his Cave Chair illustration and immediately thought it would be a great collaboration piece that fit the aesthetic of Loll’s modern outdoor furniture. Ralph originally conceived this chair in 1943 as plywood with a cushion, but it was never actually produced. Part of Loll’s Rapson Collection, this perfectly over sized, futuristic, comfortable and fun, modern Cave Chair will induce hours of conversation , whether you’re sitting in it or just walking by. Named after the earth-excavated Cave House that Ralph designed with Dave Runnells in 1939. It, too, was never built.
