A rare offering of original 19th-century German botanical plates from J. G. Büchner’s Pflanzen-Atlas, published in Heilbronn, Germany by Gebr. Henninger in 1876. These plates were issued as part of the fourth edition of the atlas, which contained approximately 400 plant species and 2,000 figures across 32 plates. Each plate features finely detailed botanical illustrations with hand coloring, reflecting the careful scientific and decorative presentation prized in 19th-century natural history publications. Imported from Germany, these examples are quite rare; in all our years buying and selling botanicals, we have never seen this work come to market. Offered in curated sets, these plates make an exceptional addition for collectors, designers, botanical enthusiasts, and anyone seeking authentic antique natural history artwork with strong visual presence and historical significance.
