A contemporary Art Deco lithograph on paper titled "La Rose Rouge" by Italian artist Rene Gruau, a famous fashion illustrator in the 1940's and 1950's. Hand signed on the lower right with an annotation 119/300 on the lower left. Published in 1987. A sophisticated and elegant composition. From a private collection. The dimensions are 35" h x 28.5" w x 1.5"d (framed). In very good vintage condition. Rene Gruau (1909-2004) was part of the Modern Fashion movement. Elegance. Refinement. Flair. In the 1940's and 1950's, he created the visual art interpretation to Christian Dior's "New Look" and brought the art of fashion illustration to new "belle epoque."
