Pamela Melvin's "Restful Reverie" This captivating oil painting by Pamela Melvin, titled "Restful Reverie," is a stunning blend of color, texture, and evocative imagery. The subject, a woman draped in a vibrant red cloth, lies peacefully amidst a colorful patchwork of fabrics and pillows, exuding a sense of tranquility and repose. The soft, muted tones of the background, punctuated by the striking contrast of the white vase and the bold orange flowers, create a harmonious and inviting atmosphere. The artist : I prefer to work with oils, draw, and use color. My influences are varied. I visited many museums starting with my childhood in the Washington D.C. area and continuing while living in New York City. Abstraction, Fauvism, Expressionism, and classical art have all influenced me and continue to inspire me to discover myself as an artist. My artwork is painterly, expressive and spontaneous. It is an endless journey to self-realization when creating and producing an object of art. My paintings have decorative elements at the same time having symbolic and expressive qualities. I am a life-member of the Art Students League and a "listed" artist.
