What captures our attention as viewers is the atmosphere itself, generated with a burst of color. The scene depicts a green, wooded landscape. The color green is displayed in all its splendor, with a wide range of tones that permeate everything, from the trees and grass to the sky. As is typical of Impressionism, these colors are not exact representations of reality, but rather an emotional interpretation of nature. The various forms are modeled with thick brushstrokes that blend together to give a sense of movement.
